Morrowind Rebirth: Ascadian Isles by Jedi-Art-Trick Morrowind Rebirth: Ascadian Isles by Jedi-Art-Trick
Another region piece done for the Morrowind Rebirth mod project. I'm trying to improve several digital painting skills with this series, and hopefully by the end of it I will be a better painter.

Yes- it's one of the details I just had to include. There is an interesting juxtaposition of beauty in the form of the landscape of the isles and of ugliness of the dunmer plantations packed with slaves. I always loved that about Morrowind- it takes a complicated and mature look at the land and its people.

It took me a bit of time to take a look at it. I remember playing Morrowind, and it was a very mature theme to it. And at that time, more so in this game than Oblivion OR Skyrim, race did matter. In fact I think there were a few quests in TES 3 where you couldn't do certain quests because of which race you chose.
I went with an Argonian, and there were those awkward moments. (haha as if my icon didn't say enough)

They seemed to throw out the racial tension in Oblivion, since they seemed to want to remove every outstanding/interesting characteristic of their fantasy world. Skyrim does add this tension between elves and humans, which is fantastic for roleplay, but I think concepts like slavery are too serious for their mainstream audience (or at least Bethesda thinks so).

In Oblivion it kind of makes slight sense due to it being Cyrodiil, its a melting pot but its still there. You're right about Skyrim though, the tension is still there and learn a few things about the Falmer on that genocide on a massive scale.

But as for that concept, honestly I'm surprised it wasn't mention that the Aldmerdi Dominion didn't become the new face of that institution.

ESO oddly enough goes back into the racial tensions, but perhaps not as greatly as TES 3 did.
